Modern Extension to a Golf Club Building in Brighton
Contract Value:£150 000
Completion: Oct 2017
Budget: Delivered to budget
Safety: Zero incidents
Description
Construction of a new extension to a golf club building in Brighton, with low-level trench heating, cantilevered structural steels forming the superstructure and roof, and modern glazing with aluminium French doors.
Works included structural steels, roofing, electrical, plumbing/heating, and flooring.
Key Challenges
Crime Minimisation
- Mesh Heras Fencing was used so that any intruders could be seen inside the compound.
- Utilising Existing Security. The building already had existing alarm and anti-theft/intruder systems which we utilised in the management of this project.
- Delayed Entry to Building. We ensured that the opening between the extension and the existing building was only formed once the extension itself was fully formed and securable, avoiding any reduction in the security of the site while we worked.
Environmental Management
- Recycling. We left some of the spoil on site for use in landscaping, saving the client money in obtaining this material from other sources, and diverting that waste from landfill or incineration.
Completion on-time and on-budget.
- Regular cost reports kept the client apprised of the financial position of the project, and extras were clearly costed and documented to ensure no overruns.
